Most practicing physicians are board-certified. Very few are double board-certified. Triple board certification is rarer still. Dr. Matthias Wiederholz holds four board certifications which places him at the pinnacle of all medical experts. His core training is in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. Secondary and tertiary specializations are in Sports Medicine and Pain Management. His fourth certification is in Anti-Aging, Regenerative & Functional Medicine.

Dr. Wiederholz completed medical school at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey in 2003. Residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation was completed at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Fellowship training in Interventional Spine and Sports Medicine was completed in Marietta, Georgia. He started his practice in 2008 and has been in private practice ever since. Dr. Wiederholz continued his education after entering private practice and received a master’s degree in Metabolic & Nutritional Medicine from the University of South Florida – Tampa. Additionally, he attained board-certification in Anti-Aging, Regenerative & Functional Medicine from the American Board of Anti-Aging Medicine. He incorporates nutritional and hormonal treatments into his Sports Medicine and Pain Management therapies.

As far as pain management treatments, Dr. Wiederholz has always remained at the forefront of his field. He offers the full suite of pain management procedures from injections to implantable therapies and even minimally-invasive surgical options. Dr. Wiederholz was the first physician in the entire state of Texas to perform the Superion interspinous spacer procedure. He’s also one of only a handful of physicians trained in endoscopic spine surgery techniques. Dr. Wiederholz is a member of the national advisory board for targeted drug deliver for Medtronic and also teaches numerous courses for StimWave in both spinal cord stimulation and peripheral nerve stimulation. In his spare time Dr. Wiederholz enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, particularly traveling domestically and abroad.
